Georgia Tech considers the security and privacy of employee and student information to be of utmost importance. To keep our information safe, the Institute requires that all GT students, faculty, and staff use two-factor authentication when accessing campus services and systems. This new standard will strengthen the protection of employee and student data and will maintain compliance with University System Information Security policy.

Instructions for GT Two Factor Authentication Enrollment

If you are a student, faculty or staff, and need to enroll in Two-factor Authentication using Duo, please follow the instructions below. Please prepare for two-factor authentication enrollment by downloading the Duo app and following the instructions for iOS and Android on the "Pre-checklist for Enrolling in Two-factor Authentication".

  • As a credit student (online, or in person), you will have 10 class days to enroll and be using Two-factor Authentication. Enforcement will take place on the 3rd Monday of classes each semester. Classes start on a Monday and on the third Monday Enforcement will take place.
  • As an employee, you will be required to enroll and use Two-factor Authentication immediately. This applies to Graduate Students who are hired.

What do I do if I see the Georgia Tech Login Service Attention page?
  • If you are currently seeing the Georgia Tech Login Service Attention page displaying that you are required to enroll in Two-Factor Authentication, you will need to self-enroll. Find detailed steps to self enroll in two-factor authentication.
  • As a credit student (online, or in person), you will have 10 class days to enroll and be using Two-factor Authentication. Enforcement will take place on the 3rd Monday of classes each semester. Classes start on a Monday and on the third Monday Enforcement will take place.
  • As an employee, you will be required to enroll and use Two-factor Authentication immediately. This applies to Graduate Students who are hired.
Why am I seeing two-factor log in is needed: Access Denied?
  • If you are seeing on or after the third Monday the "Access Denied" message, it means that you are not yet enrolled in the Georgia Tech Two-factor Authentication Service. Find detailed steps to self enroll in two-factor authentication.
  • As a credit student (online, or in person), you will have 10 class days to enroll and be using Two-factor Authentication. Enforcement will take place on the 3rd Monday of classes each semester. Classes start on a Monday and on the third Monday Enforcement will take place.
  • As an employee, you will be required to enroll and use Two-factor Authentication immediately. This applies to Graduate Students who are hired.
